This extraordinary adventure begins at Thanda Private Game Reserve, where you will have the privilege of seeing some of Africa’s most iconic animals. From the comfort of a safari vehicle, you will be treated to sights of lions stalking prey, elephants slowly walking across the land and grazing as they make their way, and a kaleidoscope of other creatures.

Then, you’ll trade in the dusty safari for the Mozambican coast. The White Pearl Resort will be your beachfront paradise, and you’ll spend the next leg of your trip sitting on the sands, exploring the hidden coves, or enjoying nature’s wonders with a guided lake walk or an ocean safari. Itinerary

Day 1 | Thanda Private Game Reserve

On arrival at King Shaka International Airport, Durban, you will be met and transferred via road to Thanda Private Game Reserve. Depending on your arrival time, check in and have some time to relax and enjoy lunch. In the late afternoon set off on your first game drive.

Once you are back at the lodge dinner will be served.

Day 2 & 3 | Thanda Private Game Reserve

An early morning departure for your first game activity of the day. Once you are back at the lodge, enjoy a late breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing, either in communal areas at the lodge, or in the privacy of your own suite. A game drive sets out again in the last afternoon

Overnight at Thanda Safari Lodge on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 4 | White Pearl

After your morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred via road to the border post between South Africa and Mozambique. Once you have gone through the border you will be collected and transferred through to White Pearl Resort on the Mozambican coast. Dependent on your arrival time, enjoy lunch and spend the rest of the day settling into the lodge

Day 5 & 6 | White Pearl

This package is based on a four night stay at White Pearl and this also includes the following activities: Guided lake walk with sundowners, a back, neck and shoulder massage (30 min), Turtle walk (seasonal Nov – Feb), ocean safari (includes whale watching Nov – Feb) and a Maputo Special Reserve Trip.

Day 7 | Departure

After breakfast and depending on your onward flight time, you will be transferred through to Maputo International Airport

Melkboomsdrift Guest House ****

Melkboomsdrift Lodge, situated on the banks of the Olifants River, offers elegantly decorated rooms, with all the luxuries needed to make your stay memorable. The swimming pool is surrounded by garden areas and offers views over the vineyards and the river. The rooms at Melkboomsdrift have a flat-screen TV and a minibar. Some rooms have a fully equipped kitchenette, and some have air-conditioning. Guests can use the barbeque facilities and enjoy outdoor meals. There is also a bar on the property.

Strandfontein beaches are close by, and a picnic can be requested from reception to make your beach visit a full-day activity.
