Itinerary

On arrival at Mfuwe International Airport you will be met and transferred to Nkwali Camp, where you will spend the first night of your Zambian safari. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a lunch looking out over the lagoon to the back of Nkwali or afternoon tea. And later enjoy the afternoon and night game drive.

An early breakfast is offered before you head out on your first walk. After a couple of hours of experiencing the bush, a game drive vehicle will transfer you the rest of the way to your first mobile camp. You’ll be in time for lunch and there will be time to settle and rest before tea and going for a walk around camp. Sundowners and dinner will be served under the stars. The accommodation is in well-equipped walk-in tents and the ablution facilities are camping-rustic

Sunrise indicates the start of your morning walk. While you are exploring the remote, wild terrain, the mobile camp will be packed up and moved to the next location. Walking the Mupamadzi River, which is a major tributary to the Luangwa River, with it’s own unique inhabitants, makes these walks, conducted by a naturalist guide and armed game scout, something you will remember for years to come.

Breakfast is again an early affair, after which you are transferred to the Luangwa River crossing. You will be taken across the river by boat and enjoy a short drive to the camp. On arrival you will be shown to your room and then lunch will be served followed by a well-deserved siesta before the afternoon and evening game drive. The lodge, Nsefu Camp, was the first game camp in Zambia and dates back to the early fifties. The rondavels have spacious bathrooms and clear river views, which can be enjoyed from the room veranda’s
