Itinerary

Day 1 | Eastern Cape

On arrival at Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) Airport, you will be met and transferred by road to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.

Depending on your arrival time, spend some time settling into the lodge, before afternoon tea & eats. A late afternoon / early evening game drive sets out, after which lunch is served when you are back at the lodge.

Day 2 & 3 | Eastern Cape

Twice daily game drives set out either early in the morning or late afternoon / early evening, depending on the season. There are drinks stops during the drives and meals are served once you are back at the lodge. There is also a nature walks on offer daily, accompanied by an armed specialist ranger & tracker (subject to availability). These walks offer an up-close-and-personal view of the little animals of the African bush and are a highly recommended way of spending the mornings.

Afternoons can be spent at the pool or reading, before the afternoon drive sets out again.

Kwandwe also offers additional experiences for lodge guests (at additional costs). Please discuss this with your consultant.

Day 4 | Cape Town

Transfer back to Gqueberha Airport for your flight to Cape Town (fare not included).

On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred through to Ellerman House, where you will be staying for the next 4 nights.

Day 5 | Cape Town

After breakfast you will be collected and taken on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula.

Spend some time walking around the sea-side village of Kalk Bay, after which you’ continue to Simon’s Town and a visit to Boulder’s Beach for a visit to the African Penguin colony. Next you’ll be taken to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, with a trip to the lighthouse. Lunch will be arranged for you enroute (cost not included). End the day with an incredible scenic drive along Chapman’s Peak (Chappies) as your head back to Cape Town and your hotel.

Day 6 | Cape Town

You will be collected after breakfast for a tour of Robben Island in the morning and wine estate visits and tastings in the afternoon in the Constantia area. Robben Island is weather dependent. A ferry takes you across the bay to the island and the tour lasts about 3 hours.

Once you are back in the V&A Waterfront, you’ll be taken to Steenberg Wine estate, where lunch will be arranged for you at one of the restaurants on the estate. A wine tasting will be arranged at Beau Constantia Wine Estate in the afternoon, before heading back to your hotel

Day 7 | Cape Town

Your guide will collect you for a full day in the Cape Winelands today. You’ll start off with a walk through the village of Franschhoek, a historic and iconic destination in terms of wine in South Africa. A wine tasting will be arranged for you at Antonij Rupert Wine Estate, including a vintage car drive from the wine tasting centre to the Franschhoek Motor Museum, where your guide will be waiting for you

Lunch will be arranged for you at Delaire Graff Estate (costs not included)

The afternoon will be spent in and around Stellenbosch, with a wine tasting at Waterford Wine Estate. Once back with your guide you’ll be taken back to your hotel

Day 8 | Northern Cape

Once you have checked out of your hotel, you will be taken to Cape Town Airport, where you will connect with your schedule private flight to Tswalu.

On arrival at Tswalu, you will be collected from the airstrip and transferred to the lodge. Enjoy a light lunch and relaxing, before the late afternoon / early evening game drive sets out.

Dinner is served once you are back at the lodge.

Day 9, 10 & 11 | Northern Cape

Tswalu has an array of activities for guests. Speak to your ranger and do as many of the experiences as you’d like, or spend some down time, relaxing in your suite or at your pool.

Tswalu Loapi

Pioneering and nomadic in spirit, Loapi Tented Camp’s six individual safari homes are surrounded by open savannah grasslands and accommodate two or four guests for the ultimate private wilderness experience. The 4 one-bedroom homes and 2 two-bedroom homes, spanning over 300 square metres (about 3200 square feet) and over 400 square metres (about 4600 square feet) respectively, are for those desiring complete privacy on safari.
